The contemporary companion to the static Wedgwood Family History Website. A log of up-to-date Wedgwood news, recent research and items of related interest.
Thanks to your generosity, the incredible Wedgwood Collection has been saved for future generations – two months ahead of our 30 November deadline. The Collection tells the story of over 250 years of British art through 80,000 objects. We're planning to gift it to the V&A and for it to remain on display at the Wedgwood Museum in Barlaston.
The Art Fund's campaign has secured a total of £15.75m through several grant-making foundations, with the final £2.74m raised through donations and pledges.
"The Art Fund" is the operating name of the National Art Collections Fund, a charity registered in England and Wales (209174) and Scotland (SC038331) The Art Fund, 2 Granary Square, King's Cross, London N1C 4BH
Back in 1996, having just finished my University finals I set up the "Wedgwood Family Worldwide" Genealogy Pages. Hosted free by Geocities until last year they grew steadily, and ever more contacts were made with kith and kin around the globe.
I am not able to spend nearly as much time as I would like developing the pages further.
In 2009 Geocities free sites have been ended - a new site http://www.familyhistorian.info has been set up and material is slowly being migrated. This new 'Wedgwood Portal' links to Genealogical Database options, notable biographies and this blog. These links are replicated below.
I set up this blog to enable me to regularly, and easily post news, genealogical tidbits and updates to the site whilst still retaining access to the old pedigree charts and links to Philip Richards' database, which is the most up-to-date anywhere.
Please enjoy the site, do get in touch and consider joining the Wedgwood-L mailing List to keep in touch with the global family. Finally, apologies in advance if I am tardy in my responses, I am part way through a part-time Ph.D, and I work full time. I will get to you eventually, but don't be shy in re-sending, with a sharp word!
